VC is very excited to welcome AMP to the VC family, as our US Mixed division partner team!

Philadelphia AMP

AMP is a mixed club ultimate team whose mission is to raise our teammates and represent Philadelphia.

"We work to grow our community, and support improvement, power, and creativity – competing against the country’s best club teams."

As part of our partnership with AMP, we will do what we love most - and perhaps even do best - aim to make a difference in local communities. AMP has launched a VC Team Store to raise funds for Bread & Roses Community Fund, a trusted, community-run organization in Philadelphia.

Mission

Bread & Roses believes in change, not charity. We organize donors at all levels to support community-based groups in building movements for racial, social and economic justice. We support movements and their leaders through fundraising, grantmaking, capacity building, and convening.

Calvin Trisolini, one of AMP's captains, told why the team chose to support Bread & Roses: "We chose them because of their impact and their decision-making process - we feel really good about the way Bread & Roses decides where to distribute resources."

Calvin pointed out a specific part from their website that the team identified with, "We raise money through donations of all sizes and make grants using a democratic, community-led decision-making process. Our grants go to local groups working for good schools, fewer prisons, better jobs, a safe environment, quality health care, and more. We believe that the people in the best position to create real change are those who are most affected by injustice and inequality. We bring people together across issues and provide training to build leadership among people of color, poor and working-class people, people with disabilities, women, and LGBTQ people."

The VC team is thankful to AMP for introducing us to an organization with an ethos we agree with so strongly, and we're thrilled to work together to support their mission.
