Here are the 5 most popular photos of 2020 according to VC's Instagram account – which is really a collection of images both taken and curated by our photographer, Andraž (Andy) Kramberger.
US Open 2019
This photo of an unbelievable layout catch by Revolution Ultimate's Manuela Cardenas was taken at the US Open in 2019.
Andy's take: That Manuela catch was just incredible to see. She was cutting in the other direction when the pass came in behind her and she swung herself around and twisted her body midair to catch it. This all while she had an injured wrist (or hand) in the finals of the US open.
Manuela is wearing our fully sublimated Raglan jersey and our Shorty Shorts.
Throwback from 2018 WJUC
Taken at the 2018 World Junior Ultimate Championships in Waterloo, Canada, this shot of Team Canada Open's Scott Graham shows a pretty perfect layout. Andy's take: Graham had a few amazing plays that game but this one topped them all (at least for me as a photographer). It had been raining hard just minutes before so the ground was wet and the guys really took advantage of it, laying out more than in any other game I watched. They also won this game against France.
Team Canada's 2018 dark uniform was a sublimated Classic jersey paired with Micro Shorts.
WU24 2019
Team Canada's Jason Huynh throwing himself completely into the air, smiling all the way, at the 2019 World Under-24 Championships in Germany.
Andy's take: If you want action, Jason Huynh delivers. Half the time he is flying horizontally past people trying to intercept passes. Here he's just missed it but still putting unbelievable pressure on the offense with that kind of athleticism.
Team Canada's 2019 light jerseys were spot sublimated Raglan jerseys.
More WU24...
Team Canada's Laura Kinoshita maintains laser focus and control as she grabs the disc at the World Under-24 Ultimate Championships in Heidelberg, Germany in 2019.
Andy's take: This was a pool-play game against Colombia so the level was top notch with awesome plays on both sides, but this fully outstreched one-handed grab was one of my favourite plays of the week.
Kinoshita is also wearing our Raglan jersey, which was the first of our non-binary sizing styles, paired with Shorty Shorts.
Even more WU24... the Sky's the Limit
Rounding out our top 5 photos of 2020 is the only non-layout of the bunch... an amazing sky by Team Canada's Cole Keffer at the World Under-24 Championships in 2019.
Andy's take: This was the last point of an amazing semi-final game. I was right there at the endzone line, and just seeing the vertical on that sky was breathtaking.
