Simply put, Pivot is a line of apparel we source, not make. There's a lot of third-party performance apparel on the market, and we reviewed multiple options in order to offer the best in terms of quality, availability and price.
Why Label It?
We want players to know where their team or their opponents jerseys came from, but we don't want to mislead you in thinking they are manufactured by us.
No piece of apparel is finished with our awesome VC rubber label unless the VC team designed the garment from start to finish.
But VC Relabels Reversible Mesh Tanks...?
That is true, we do press a VC woven label on the Reversible Mesh Tanks we offer. Why? As we don't manufacture blank mesh reversibles, we're not worried about people making assumptions on this particular product. While this is an exception, do note that we will never extend this flexibility to our VC rubber label - we stand firm on this.
Why Pivot Jerseys then?
To be honest, the cost of our FlexLight material is higher than what most of our competitors pay for their completely sewn jerseys. To stock 50-100m in each of our 18 original FlexLight colours became cost-prohibitive over the last few years as teams moved towards sublimation, causing classic fabric colours such as gold, forest, purple or powder blue to be ordered on average only 3 times per season.
Consequently, we reduced the number of colours ordered, and began offering the best in-stock performance jerseys we could source from our suppliers under our Pivot line.
Pivot jerseys are good... but not as good as VC jerseys
While we're able to satisfy many customers with the quality, affordability and fast turnaround of our Pivot jerseys, many others requested the VC quality which they'd known and loved over the last 20 years.
We were in a predicament... should we keep stocking (and financing) $500-1000 worth of several fabric colours, each potentially for many years? Or could we innovate...? That's when Simple Sublimation came to the rescue.
