Team Canada Uniforms
Speaking of which, we are excited to tell you more about the new official Team Canada jerseys!
Not only are the jerseys made locally here in Canada, they are also made from our proprietary 100% recycled FlexLight fabric!
Each Raglan jersey is made from the fibers of 5 plastic water bottles.
Recycled FlexLight... How does it work?
As you can see in the diagram below – plastic bottles are sorted, washed and chopped into flake (1), which are then blended, melted and turned into chips (2). The chips then go through an extrusion and texturing process and get transformed into fibers (3) with inherent properties, such as moisture wicking and thermal regulation. Our fabric is weaved using these fibres (4).
To read about this process in more detail, you can view this previous post.
We want you to feel good in, and about, your jerseys
We know that providing athletes with the highest-performing uniforms is paramount, and we also believe that feeling good about how these uniforms are made is important.
